Ms. Kim is honored to be the Director of Community Kids Christian Preschool. She is a native of Sterling, Virginia. Although you might hear the word y’all slip once or twice since her birthplace is Dallas, Texas, where she lived until the 5th grade.
She has personally achieved the Educational/Experience qualifications as a Program Administrator/Director position with NAEYC requirements under the Alternative Pathways. In 1981, she received her formal Degree in Early Childhood from Ferrum College. In 2011, Ms. Kim’s relevant training and credentials were met with the 120 formal hours for her Child Development Associates (CDA) Certification from Penn Foster. In 2013, Ms. Kim received her Preschool Credential in the CDA National Credentialing Program, from the Council for Professional in Washington, DC. Ms. Kim’s past experience was being a Children’s Director at another church for over eight years. She took several child development classes from NOVA. Ms. Kim graduated from Park View High School in Sterling, Virginia. Her experience included the opportunity of volunteering her time at the daycare inside the high school while attending high school.
Ms. Kim’s true calling from God is working with children for over 40 years. She is passionate about seeing every child succeed and helping families. Her go-to activities range from being in a safe environment to preparing a child for school with social and academic skills. She loves seeing every child’s huge smile and excitement on their face after accomplishing something. She loves to give and receive hugs every day! She is a dependable, organized and reliable individual. She demonstrates personal flexibility. She always performs with honor and character. Ms. Kim resides in Sterling with her husband. She is a proud mother of two boys. Joey is living his dream of working in the Theatre as his profession in Alaska. Tommy is pursuing his love of graphic design at James Madison University.
She is certified in CPR/First Aid, E-MAT, and Child Abuse and Neglect. Also, has been certified as a Car Seat Technician. Ms. Kim has certificates from Early Childhood professional training courses and continues to take Child Development-related courses. Her annual requirement as a Director is 24 hours of Continue Ed ours in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Kim is required to have a Physical (every year) and TB test (every two years) completed before the first day of Preschool each new year. She has a Central Registry Release of Information Form done by Department of Social Services as well as a Background Fingerprints are done every five years.
