Meet CKCP Staff

Ms. Kim – Director of CKCP

She is honored to be the Director of Community Kids Christian Preschool. She is a native of Sterling, Virginia. You might hear the word y’all slip once or twice. Due to her birthplace is Dallas, Texas until 5th grade.

She has personally achieved the Educational/Experience qualifications as a Program Administrator/Director position with NAEYC requirements under the Alternative Pathways. In 1981, she received her formal education AA Degree in Early Childhood from Ferrum College. In 2011, Ms. Kim’s relevant training and credentials were met with the 120 formal hours for her Child Development Associates (CDA) Certification from Penn Foster. In 2013, Ms. Kim received her Preschool Credential in the CDA National Credentialing Program, from the Council for Professional in Washington, DC. Ms. Kim’s past experience was being a Children’s Director at another church for over eight years. She took several child development classes from NOVA. Ms. Kim graduated from Park View High School in Sterling, Virginia. Her experience was having the opportunity of volunteering her time at the daycare inside the high school while attending high school.

Ms. Kim’s true calling from God is working with children for almost 40 years. She is passionate about seeing every child succeed and helping families. Her go-to activities range from being in a safe environment to preparing a child for school with social and academic skills. She loves seeing every child’s huge smile and excitement on their face after accomplishing something. She loves to give and receive hugs every day! She is a dependable, organized and reliable individual. She demonstrates personal flexibility. She always performs with honor and character. She is a proud mother of two boys. Joey is an Alumni of The College of William and Mary with a double major in Theatre and Economics. Tommy is going into his Junior year at James Madison University. Tommy is currently an intern with JMU’s football team as their Creative Social Media Intern. Ms. Kim is certified in MAT, CPR, First Aid, Certified Child Seat Technician, Daily Health Observation, and Child Abuse and Neglect.

Ms. Trinh– Lead Teacher in the Leap Frogs – 2D3’s/3D3’s
and Assistant Teacher in Afternoon Adventures (Thursday’s and Friday’s)

Trinh started working at CKCP 2016-2017 as a Substitute and Assistant Teacher for the Afternoon Adventure. She got her degree at George Mason University as a Counselor. Worked for a non-profit social service in City of Falls Church as a Counselor/Homebase services and Accountant. When she had her first child, she decided to stay home and take care of her three kids and volunteered her time at their school and as needed Substitute Teacher.
During her spare time, she likes to go hiking, running, or any outdoor activities with her family. She has CPR, First Aid, E-MAT, and Child Abuse and Neglect certifications.

Ms. Julie – Lead Teacher in the Busy Bees

Ms. Julie is excited to be a new member of our team, and feels blessed to be teaching preschool again. Julie has been a preschool lead teacher for the past seven years—five of which were as director/lead at the Town of Herndon, one-year teaching preschool at Lifetime Fitness Center, and one year heading a home preschool program. Julie graduated from Brigham Young University with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, has certificates from Early Childhood professional training courses, and continues to take Child Development-related courses. She has years of experience in home daycare and is a proud mother of six children: Aaron (24), Rebecca (22), Renee (20), Kimberly (18), Daniel (16), Jacob (9), and her grandson, Zayden (3). She has also served as a Sunday-School teacher, youth leader, and nursery leader for the past twenty-six years in her church. During her spare time, she enjoys reading novels, dancing at Zumba, cycling, and spending time with her family. Though Julie has worked with all ages throughout her life, her true passion is working with preschool-age children. In addition, she is certified in CPR/First Aid, E-MAT and Child Abuse and Neglect.

Ms. Sumera – Assistant Teacher in the Busy Bees

Ms. Sumera has over eight years’ experience working in Dubai as Lead Teacher in an Elementary School for Kindergartners and upper grades and recently moved to Virginia. She lives in Sterling with her three children Ephraim, Abraham, and Angelina. Her husband name is Peter. Ms. Samera has a degree in Bachelor of Science. Ms. Sumera is fluent in three languages in English, Urdu, Punjabi. She is very excited be the Assistant Teacher for the Busy Bees class. She loves working with children. Ms. Sumera has volunteered in different organizations in Dubai and Virginia. In her free time she enjoys reading books and having fellowship with church members. Ms. Sumera is certified in CPR/First Aid, E-MAT and Child Abuse and Neglect.

Ms. Jerusa – Lead Teacher in Brown Bears – 4D4’s
and Assistant Teacher for Afternoon Adventures (Mon – Wed)

She has two children, Mark (18) and Jessica (16). She has lived in Virginia since 2004. She loves working with children! She volunteered at Countryside Elementary school when her children were younger. Ms. Jerusa has experience working in a local preschool when her children were young. Ms.Jerusa has had many job descriptions with CKCP as a substitute teacher and assistant teacher for the Brown Bears Class in 2009/2010. In 2012, she shadowed and supported a student in the Leap Frogs.

She is very excited to begin in the role as Lead Teacher for the Brown Bears class. She likes to watch and be part of the growing and discovering process of preschool children. She enjoys preparing the children for Kindergarten. Ms. Jerusa is certified in E-MAT, CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse and Neglect.

Ms. Patty – Assistant Teacher in Brown Bears – 4D4’s

Ms. Patty is originally from Peru and moved to the United States in 2005. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Lima. She is a people-oriented person who has worked in the Human Resources field for many years. Ms. Patty’s been married for 15 years and has two daughters (6 and 8 years old) who both attended CKCP for preschool.

Ms. Patty started with CKCP as a substitute teacher from 2014 to 2016. She enjoys working with the children and helping them to get ready for kindergarten. She also likes to run and go to the beach with her family. Ms. Patty is certified in E-MAT, CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse and Neglect.

Ms. Donna – Lead Teacher in the Panda Bears – 5D4’s

She is originally from New York. She has a Bachelors Degree in Business Marketing from Hofstra University. Prior to working at CKCP Ms. Donna worked at State Farm Insurance handling legal claims for 12 years in PR and customer service. Ms. Donna volunteered for six years at her children’s elementary school and ran the Book Room. Ms. Donna has just begun her 12th year at CKCP teaching in the 5 day-4 year old class. Ms. Donna truly loves teaching children! She has also taught Religious Education in her church for five years and has assisted as a Troop Leader for five years with the Girl Scouts. She resides in Loudoun County with her family and enjoys being part of the community. Ms. Donna is certified in E-MAT, CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse and Neglect.

Ms. Maria – Assistant Teacher Panda Bears – 5D4’s

Ms. Maria has lived in Sterling since 1994. She is a graduate of Penn State University, with a B.A. in both Psychology and Sociology. This is her fifth year at another preschool classroom in the afternoons but, her first year working for Community Kids. She is a proud mom of three adult children. In her free time, she enjoys reading, going to the gym, and socializing with her friends. She is looking forward to an exciting year with your children as she helps them on their discovery of becoming lifelong learners! She is certified in CPR/First Aid, E-MAT and Child Abuse and Neglect.

Ms. Leah – Lead Teacher in the Afternoon Adventures

She is a former Fairfax County science teacher. She taught biology for five years at South Lake High School in Reston and has tutored math and science for the past six years since leaving the classroom. She has a Masters of Education, a B.S. in biology and a minor in chemistry, all from the College of William and Mary. In 2014, she took over Kids Club (KC), the predecessor of Afternoon Adventures (AA). She taught KC one day a week and assisted the second day for the remainder of the year. Ms. Leah also subbed for CKCP.

In the school year 2014-2015, she took over as full-time co-lead teacher for Afternoon Adventures. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, she will be teaching science and math enrichments and will be teaching music enrichment on alternate Wednesdays. Leah loves music, walks in the woods and collecting bugs and other interesting things with her daughter who is going into 3rd grade and son who is going into 5th grade. Both of her children are CKCP alumni. She is certified in E-MAT, CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse and Neglect.

Ms. Fizza – Admin at CKCP

She has just started as the CKCP’s Admin. She has also been associated with the CKCP family, all three of her children came to CKCP.  Ms. Fizza has been a Financial Analyst in the past. She has been staying at home to raise her three children. She volunteers at Horizon Elementary as the room parent and in her children’s classroom. She is actively involved with the PTA. Ms. Fizza is certified in E-MAT, CPR, First Aid, and AED.
